Coffee and news seems so obvious a match that we never even think about it. The two go hand-in-hand. In fact it's hardly worth mentioning. Unless your goal is to point out this fact and see just what caused it to become this way.
So how did that happen exactly? It's almost expected even cliche to see people drinking coffee while reading the newspaper. Considering that newspapers were traditionally delivered early in the morning and most people began their day by drinking coffee in the mornings, taking advantage of the caffeine in coffee, to help wake them up the two inevitably became forever married. You rise and brew a pot of coffee and grab the morning newspaper from the porch. It became routine for generations.
Now that digital media has overtaken the printed newspaper and magazines we still drink coffee as we read or watch news stories. But coffee too has evolved over time and is now sold in huge amount of variety by all kinds of vendors. However the link between coffee and news has stayed the same. Is it because old habits die hard or that maybe the alertness that coffee brings and the way it stimulates our brains encourages us crave or seek information and knowledge. Whatever the case maybe the coffee & news combination will probably remain forever.
